Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced Spring Shop Technician to join our team. This role involves inspecting, repairing, and replacing suspension components, including leaf springs, torque rods, shackles, and hangers, for heavy-duty trucks and trailers. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, hands-on experience with heavy suspension systems, and a commitment to safety and precision.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair suspension systems on trucks, trailers, and other heavy vehicles.
- Remove, repair, and install leaf springs, U-bolts, bushings, hangers, and related components.
- Perform axle alignments, adjustments, and balancing as needed.
- Operate shop tools, presses, and welding equipment safely and effectively.
- Inspect and test completed work to ensure quality and safety compliance.
- Maintain accurate service records and communicate findings to service managers.
- Keep work areas organized and follow all company safety procedures.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in a suspension, alignment, or heavy-truck repair environment
- Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills
- Welding and torch-cutting experience preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding work
- Detail-oriented with a focus on safety and quality
- Valid driver’s license required
